WHAT ABOUT KIDS?
Lumber City Church is bursting at the seams with young families.  Here's what you can expect if you're bringing the whole tribe!

Birth- Age 3
Lumber City Church cares deeply about our littlest members. Our nursery is broken down into 3 separate spaces. The first section is the infant-crawler section. It is equipped with a changing table, a pack and play, and a rocking chair. The next section is our crawler and new walker section which is equipped with a bouncer, and other safe and fun age appropriate toys. The last section is our 2’s and 3’s section. In this section we design a simple but spiritually developmental lesson where we read a short bible story and color a page that corresponds with our story. There are various toys for these kids to play freely with, including a vast array of musical instruments for creative play. We strive to meet the spiritual and developmental needs of our babies and toddler while providing a safe and playful environment.

Nursery FAQ’s

If my baby needs me how will I know?

During the initial registration process when you are a new family to our church we ask that you fill out some basic information. We ask for your cell phone number in the event that we need to contact you during service. We will send you a text message if the need arises. If your child cries, our caring volunteers will immediately soothe your child. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will text you.

How do a check my child in and out?

You and your child will receive a check in tag specific to your family. You can do this yourself on our computers located near the entrance of the worship space, by typing in your last name and finding your child. If it is your first time visiting us please ask one of our Guest Services team members to help you check in your child. To ensure your child’s safety, your child will not be released without presentation of your corresponding tag.

What should I bring?

Please label all personal items with your child’s first and last name before arriving at the nursery. You can bring anything you think your child would like to have with them for their comfort ie- pacifier, blanket, one stuffed animal. We have a small selection of snacks on hand, and also offer water to the children. If you have anything you would like your child to have during their time in the nursery please label it with their name and present it to one of our nursery workers.

What if my child is sick?

For the safety and protection of all of our littlest members we ask that you refrain from placing your child in the nursery if they have a fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. Thank you in advance for helping us to keep our babies healthy!

Pre-K (ages 4- kindergarten)
Pre-K Kids worship together with their family in "Big Church" and are dismissed before the message portion of our time together. In our pre k program here at Lumber City Church we have a dedicated team of teachers who work diligently to prepare fun and exciting lessons each week. Their time in Pre-K consists of worship music, a bible story, a coordinating lesson to expand on the story as well as a craft and an activity. We work hard to design a program that meets the developmental and spiritual needs of our children while providing a safe and playful environment.

Lumber City Kids Church (Grades 1-5)
Kids Church Kids worship together with their family in "Big Church" and are dismissed before the message portion of our time together. In our Kids Church program here at Lumber City we have a dedicated team of teachers who collaborate and work diligently to prepare a challenging, fun and exciting lesson each week. This lesson will follow along closely with what their parents will be hearing about in church during service. We feel strongly that the Holy Spirit is leading us to teach our kids a simplified version of the message their parents will be hearing, in hopes that our families will take those lessons home and discuss them throughout the week. The kids time in Kids church each week consists of a lesson, breaking down into smaller “life groups” where they lead their own conversations and grow in relationship with one another while learning about their Hero Jesus. We work hard to design a challenging curriculum that meets the developmental and spiritual needs of our kids while providing a safe and fun environment.

Student Life (Grades 6-12)
Lumber City Students worship together with their family in "Big Church" and are encouraged to stay for the message portion of our time together. Our Student Life team here at Lumber City church is a group of men and women who are dedicated to discipling our teens and cultivating a relationship with their peers and Jesus. They meet in a Life Group Setting on Tuesday evening, and are led by our Student Discipleship Leader Alex Domaradzki. During our Sunday services many of our Students can be found serving in our various ministries such as the production team, the Kids Church, Pre- K and Nursery Team and in our Coffee Bar. Our Student Life team is dedicated to working with our families to help our teens grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Safety Procedures
Check In and Check Out
For the safety of all of our children, each child must be checked in prior to going into their respective classrooms. Our older children may with your permission, check themselves in and print their own tag which they will place on their shirt in a visible place. At the end of our church service a parent must check-out their children using the other half of the tag. This tag will have parent's name, child’s name and their unique identifier on it.

Who Teaches my Child during Services?
Each of our children’s volunteers has had a thorough background check completed, been interviewed by a member of our Pastoral Leadership Team, and been approved by our Kids Ministry Task Force. Along with this, each worker is asked to train with one of our ministry leaders in the ministry they are going to serve in. This detailed process ensures that we will provide your child with the best possible care in a safe and secure child-friendly environment.

When does my child go to their respective classrooms?
At Lumber City Church we strive to cultivate an atmosphere where our families can come together and worship our Savior. We have chosen to keep our Pre-K and Kids Church students with their families during the worship portion of our service. During this time our Worship Team will perform 4 songs, we will have a dedicated time of prayer, a scripture reading and our Happenings video. Following this, we will dismiss our students with a Question and Answer that they will be learning in their class, as well as a memory verse.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that God's never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love has the power to change lives.

We believe that He showed the world this love in the sacrificial death of His own Son Jesus, a death that we deserved.

We also believe that there is a life after this one because God raised Jesus from the dead. That gives us hope for eternal life together with each other and with Him.

We believe that God is painting a picture of Himself at Lumber City Church by building a family of friends that follow Him. We believe that you're a part of the picture. If you're ready to get plugged in, contact us right away.
